Flower Girls

Our two girls were asked to be Flower Girls in my cousin Brittany’s wedding this month. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding.

Here’s Ella waiting for wedding party pictures with her cousin-in-crime, Justin. Can’t you FEEL her I-can’t-sit-still-one-more-minute energy??!

And DURING the wedding:

Ever notice how completely different two children from the same family can be? These pictures illustrate how our 6 year old Maggie somehow managed to keep every strand and bobby pin in place – 4 hours after she was styled.

Notice in the next two pictures how she doesn’t even move from one minute to the next?….

She’s thinking about how beautiful her cousin Brittany looks and dreaming of her OWN wedding – THIRTY years from now…

“Hhmm… maybe I’ll have an outdoor, barefoot wedding with a beautiful organza strapless A-line dress that is form fitted across the waist and falls to the floor….”

Ella is thinking, “I heard there’s going to be cake.”

Cake.

“When will I get cake?!!!”

We did manage to get SOME decent pictures of Ella though…

She was especially happy when she got her Ring Pop after a job well done. It’s a good thing, because she fell asleep before the bride and groom were able to cut their cake…

Don’t worry… she always has MAGGIE’s wedding cake to look forward to…

Whoa to the Video

Okay, so several of you have told me that you can’t see the video. :/ My techy husband Ray helped me set this up, and he used a plug in called Silverlight. Apparently it’s something new from Microsoft. In his words, it’s “like Flash… only… not Flash.”

I hesitated to post my recent long notes, because I doubted that anyone besides my own family would read them. I wrote the notes specifically to give to my daugthers when they are older. But somehow writing to a more immediate audience gives me greater motivation and focus.

I am humbled by those of you who have made it to the end of these posts and even lived to tell about it! You are a great encouragement. Thank you!
